A trimmer head can look tough on the shelf and still waste your Saturday morning. If it snarls line, jams after a few bumps, chews through nylon or makes every reload a fiddly mess, it is not doing its job. Proper head performance testing separates a head that merely fits your machine from one that keeps cutting when the grass is long, the weeds are thick and the edges have been ignored for too long.

Measure Cutting Performance, Not Just Speed
A head that spins quickly is not necessarily cutting efficiently. Cutting performance comes from the line type, line length, head design, engine power and the material under the guard.
